2016 registration

reminder registration goes live this friday, november 27 @ 9pm.  there are no refunds or transfers to prevent placeholders and dirty hoarders from reserving spots.  there will be no waitlist this year.  and please remember this ride takes place in the cold, nasty, hilly gravel roads in the middle of winter...don't sign up if there is a chance you will not attend.  that said we look forward to seeing your smiling grit covered faces at the end of february.
thanks again to all the brave souls that ventured out to ride bikes with us again this year.  the conditions were not easy, though i'd imagine most would say they never are easy.  please remember who helps make this thing happen, namely great volunteers (amy carlson, cheryl dralle, ryan zarling, and a host of folks at the checkpoint and the Cumming Tap), sponsors (Scheels, Planet Bike, Rasmussen Bike Shop, Surly, HED, Oakley, Twin Six, BikeIowa.com, Park Tool, Light & Motion, jared morford @ olympic supply) and of course our host for all the shenanigans bob at the Cumming Tap.  i'm pretty sure if it were anyone else we would have long been kicked out by now, but bob puts in the extra hours to feed you breakfast before the suns up and wipe the place down after the hurricane of muddy gravel covered cyclists depart.
also, to note tacos were purchased from our good friend sam @ Tacopocalypse and awards were sourced through the one and only squirrel @ ReCycled Artwerks
so thanks again and we'll see you all next year february 28.

CIRREM 2013 Welcomes You

Well folks it's all but upon us now.  The weather looks to be perfectly CIRREM-esque once again for Saturday the 23rd.  We look forward to hanging out with all ya'll in a few days time and enjoy a little wintery bike ride through the gravely hills of madison county.
Now, please take a moment and read the race details.  Remember you are responsible for yourself and be prepared to spend 4-7 hours in below freezing weather (Cheryl's cookies can only carry you so far).  If you are unable to attend please let us know as there are others chomping at the bit to get in.
To the fun stuff.  We are truly spoiled here at CIRREM with sponsors that love to give back.  You need to love them back, or at least say thanks to these fine folks for supporting your sport.

Scheels - once again has generously donated gift cards for ALL the place winners including $250 cards for first women and man accross the line
HED - just like last year has thrown in a sweet wheelset to be given away to a lucky finisher
Oakley - our brother from another mother Rob continues to take care of us with the best glasses on the planet and some fine duds to boot
Rasmussen Bike Shop - Greg, Sterl and the gang have been supporting us for years and tossed in more schwag again this year
CycleOps - our friends threw in another fluid 2 trainer...best in the biz.
Planet Bike - get your lights from our friends at PB...great folks doing great things for the bike community
Twin Six - donated some of their seriously smooth cycling threads, t-shirts, jersey's, socks and more
Surly - if you don't have one of their bikes something is wrong with you...they kicked in some more gear this year
BikeIowa.com - joining the fray this year bringing you halfway hoppy refreshments
T-shirt Graphix - bringing you the 2013 CIRREM race shirts..thanks Jen and Ed
Cumming Tap - what can we say CIRREM would not be what it is without Bob.  Make sure to say thanks to him for all that goes in to hosting all the shenanigans.
ReCycled Artwerks - and thanks to Squirrel for the best awards around!

The course will be the same as last year. (GPS file here or GPX here)  There will be a controlled rollout until we pass the sketchy bridge around 2.5 miles in.  Please remember all roads are open to traffic, so be careful and follow the rules of the road.  If you need to drop during the race please call the Cumming Tap 515-981-5149 so we know you are safe and no longer on the roads.

Safe travels and we'll see you all next week.
